Idaho Tomato Lady: New this week: dried flower bouquets and Cranberry Orange Jalapeno Jam, made from local cranberries harvested by Killarney Farms. Of course, there will be ALL my fruit and jalapeno jams. Wendy is bringing wreaths. We will have pumpkin roll ups, hot cider, lavender sachets, and more. Rain or shine, we will be there, tucked under a canopy with a heater on!
Northern Latitude Foods: Northern Latitude Foods will be at the final market of the season at Riverstone this Saturday. Make sure you stock up on wild rice for that Thanksgiving feast (think your
favorite wild rice stuffing) and some leftover turkey and wild rice soup. YUM! Did you know that wild rice is a low glycemic food that is also high in antioxidants, fiber and protein? It is also considered an anti-inflammatory food. Fall is a perfect time to enjoy some wild rice in soups and casseroles in addition to on its own. We have deals of the more you get, the more you save: 3 or more 15-oz bags of wild rice are 15% off, 5 lbs bags = $10 per pound, 10 lbs bags = $9 per pound. - 1 cup long grain wild rice
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 lb bulk sausage
- 13 oz mushrooms, chopped
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups cooked diced turkey
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1-1 1/2 cups bread crumbs

Preheat the oven to 375℉. Wash rice thoroughly. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add salt and add the rice gradually, stirring. Simmer, covered, for 30 minutes, until rice is tender.

Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, stirring to break up. Drain well. Stir in the chopped mushrooms and cook a few minutes until tender.

Add the soup and Worcestershire sauce to the sausage and mushroom mix and stir to combine. Combine with the rice and and spoon half the mixture into a greased 12x18x2 baking dish. Arrange the turkey on top of the rice/sausage mixture and top with the remaining rice mix. Pour the broth over the top.

Combine the butter and bread crumbs and a 1-inch border around the rice mixture. Bake at 375℉ for 45 minutes, until bubbly.
