Recipe courtesy of Ramstead Ranch and a loyal customer.
- 4 pork chops or steaks (use local!)
- 1/4 cup butter (use local!) 1/2 stick
- 1/4 cup honey (use local!)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 Tbs bourbon, rum, or vanilla extract
-
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, add the honey and brown sugar, and bring to a simmer while stirring constantly. Keep a close eye on the heat so it doesn’t scorch or boil over! Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
-
Add the bourbon and continue stirring until the mixture comes back to a simmer. Remove from heat and set aside.
-
Preheat your oven, Traeger or other pellet-style grill or smoker to 250℉. Cook your seasoned meat on one side for 30 minutes. Flip and cook another 20 minutes.
-
Brush the meat with the glaze and continue cooking until the internal temperature is 145℉. You can also cover with a lid, if in the oven, to maintain the heat and help the glaze bake and stick to your delicious cuts of meat.
