Fresh from Farmers this Week:
|
Grow Wild Gardens: I’ve got self pollinating elderberries. More lavender than I’ll ever know what to do with. Probably enough mint to cover 5 acres. Gorgeous lemon Verbena. Sage everywhere. So much rosemary, along with a list of other culinary and medicinal herbs. I will be bringing some fruit trees. 3 and 4 year old grafted semi dwarf apples (Granny Smith, Libery, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious), pears (Bartlett and Moonglow), Fantasia nectarines, and Elberta peaches. All are on very healthy rootstock, are 4 years old, and are rooting beautifully. I will also have a sampling of the grape varieties we have available. Don’t worry about showing up early, there is much better parking a way less crowded after noon. I won’t run out of plants. Hope to see you there. Psst. We’ll also be bringing incense made with essential oils. If you can’t make it to the farmers market, we can always arrange a pickup.
Pamelot Lavender: Pam is coming to the Market this weekend with fresh lavender bouquets and gifts! She’ll be at the Saturday Market for the next 4 Saturdays.
Riley Creek Blueberries: Riley Creek will be there this weekend with tons of fresh picked blueberries. Come see them at their booth!
The Tomato Lady: The Tomato Lady will be in her new spot next to the Manager this week, with lots of Huckleberry Jam and a nice assortment of jams from her farm plus new Apricot and Jalapeno flavors. I still have lots of awesome perennials, come see!
Raining Sun: Raining Sun will have “golden” raspberries.
Idaho Livestock Cattle: Established in Hayden, Idaho. We breed and raise seedstock Aberdeen Lowline Cattle. We see them from the time they’re born until they are sold to add genetics to another herd or until they end up in the locker. They are raised on pasture and hay. The steers and sometimes heifers that are chosen for harvest get fed out the last 90 days on grain. They are harvested between 18/24 months, hang for two weeks at Smokey Ridge Meats in Chewelah. This year our ground beef deal of 5 1# pk for $35 is back.
Willow Wood Honey Farm: Have you picked your handmade basket from Willow Wood Honey Farm yet? This summer’s selection is selling out quickly, so don’t wait too long! Driftwood handles collected locally at Lake Pend Orielle give each a unique personality. This weekend you receive a free purse sized Lavender Hand Butter with each basket purchase. As always, they will be giving free samples of beeswax hand butter, too!
Blue Wildrye Farm: Our sliced Deli Ham from pasture-raised Berkshire pigs is back this week and ready to steal the spotlight. With a perfectly balanced smoky-sweet-salty flavor, this ham is expertly sliced and ready to enjoy. Pile it on a sandwich, layer it into a quiche, or serve it beside a wedge of cheddar and some ripe summer fruit. $16/lb

Clark and Deb have nearly 90 books on display each Saturday! One is bound to catch your eye. We love to chat about books and writing. Graham Publishing is right by the Market Manager’s booth. And with the market’s new wood chips, we’re not fighting dust on our books anymore!
Carpe Diem Crepes: Huckleberry Crêpes are back this week, with only a few available! Bursting with sweet-tart wild huckleberries and crowned with a cloud of whipped cream, this crêpe is a taste of the mountains in every bite.
