FALL FEST IS COMING SEPTEMBER 30th!
And speaking of awesome stuff for kids, our yearly Fall Fest, held at the Hayden Saturday market, will involve a ton of fun free Family activities, including pumpkin painting and scarecrow stuffing. We’ll also have all sorts of fall flavored treats to buy, like caramel apples, pumpkin baked goods, pecan pie, hot spiced cider, and more! Our farmers will have piles of pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, and multi-colored corn for home decorations. See you there!
Willow Wood Honey Farm: Has a summer full of gardening and outdoor fun left your hands dry and needy? Stop by our booth for a free sample of beeswax hand butter. There are many to choose from, including Gardener’s, Adventurer’s, Idaho Sunrise, Sundance Salve, Huckleberry and Lavender.
Mary Nelson Studio: I will be there this Saturday with a selection of African Violets. The violets are primarily standards (which can be over eight inches across at maturity) however, there will be a few mini’s and semi-minis as well. The majority of these beautiful plants have leaves variegated in colors from cream to pink, and most are in bloom. Come check out America’s favorite houseplant at the booth right across from the stage.
Maggie May Collection:The wares I will be bringing to Saturday’s Market will be one of a kind vintage silver plated wind chimes made from tea pots, sugar bowls, creamers, etc. I will also have a variety of silver-plated bud vases, spoon necklaces, and bracelets, hair clips, and inspiration plates.
CDA Scents: I will have my new pain rub that gets rid of pain in 2 minutes! If you spend $60, you get a natural cologne perfume or room deodorizer – free! I’m also offering a free leave in spray conditioner/detangler with a shampoo and conditioner with purchase.
Lake City Bakers: Our bakers are bringing back the fresh, hot biscuits and gravy this Saturday! If you haven’t tried it, get on over to booth #23 for breakfast. They are also starting their fall caramel apples, Nutella croissants, and pumpkin pies this weekend!
Narrow Way Coffee Roasters: We’re back!! After being out of town for the last few weeks we are looking forward to seeing all of you at market this week. We’ll have cups of hot coffee for sale, cold brew, coffee samples, and of course freshly roasted whole bean coffee. Come see us and stock up on coffee!
Mountain View Farm/The Tomato Lady: The Tomato Lady invites you to come to the SW corner of the Market and sample her small batch jams. They are made with local, clean fruit (I, Susi, grow the berries myself) and less sugar (cane) than most jams, allowing the full flavor of the fruit to shine. I also make jalapeno jams and huckleberry jam. You can also pick out some tomatoes or peppers while you are in my booth, or an herb plant.

Get all the ingredients you need to create healthy snack options for your kids when they get home from school
- hard and soft cow and goat cheeses
- jam or jelly
- 5 boiled eggs
- 3-4 Tbs mayonaise or Veganaise
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- sea salt and pepper, to taste
- strawberries and raspberries
- apples and pears
- 1 small melon
- carrots
- cucumbers
- green beans
- sweet peppers
- cherry tomatoes
- market cookies and/or brownies
- 1/2 cup nut or seed butter

Set out a large serving plate, board, or tray - you can even use a cookie sheet or baking dish!

Slice hard cheeses, apples, and pears and arrange them on the tray. Cut carrots and cucumbers into sticks or rounds. Cut the sweet peppers into sticks or boats. Arrange all on the tray with the green beans and tomatoes.

Cut the brownies into bite-size pieces and arrange with the cookies.

In a small bowl, combine the soft cheese with some jam, stirring to make it even. Place the nut butter in a separate small bowl. Place with or on the tray for dipping.

Cut the boiled eggs in half and scoop the hard yolks into a small mixing bowl. Add the mayo and mustard, and season to taste. refill the centers of the boiled eggs with the mixture and arrange on the tray.

If making ahead of time, cover with plastic wrap and keep in the fridge until ready to serve. Serve as is and enjoy!
