Happy summer, friends! We hope you are getting outdoors to enjoy this beautiful season in North Idaho!
We’re excited that the first fruit and berries are arriving at market this week! Art will be at the Wednesday market (today) with the first cherries of the season (we recommend arriving early to ensure availability), and several of our farmers will be bring strawberries to both markets!
As you look ahead to 4th of July plans, we hope you’ll consider making the markets your one-stop shopping destination for a truly delicious, healthful celebration. We have 3 vendors offering grassfed beef (steaks and burger) and pork (ribs, etc), and the Selkirk Bison Co will have bison available at the Saturday market. Kelly Creek Farm has delicious, farmstead cheeses to dress up your burgers, and Rugged Roots has potatoes for potato salad. Add grilled garlic scapes, salad mix topped with pea tendrils, and sheep milk gelato (from Farm Arcadia) topped with local strawberries, and… VOILA! 4th of July menu planning = DONE! (But don’t forget the peony’s for your table centerpiece.)
