Here are some delicious items for your grill from some of our vendors that you might find at the Market this Saturday and next Wednesday.
Sandia Spice Co.: We will have chili lime seasoning samples for testing and feedback at our table on Saturday. FYI: we can no longer do the Wednesday market as our products need to be out of the Sun which is impossible at Riverstone.
Narrow Way Coffee Roasters:We Making a decision can be hard! That’s why we are offering NEW 4 ounce size coffee bags this week!! Buy as many as you like and enjoy the journey of incredible artisan coffee that you can’t get anywhere else in town. Also a great gift idea to give a set of sample packs to that coffee lover you know. We can’t wait to see you at the market!!
Dandelion Half Acre: We’re still processing herbs like crazy! Scape salt has all been bottled, and the aromas of fresh tarragon salt are filling the air. We suggest using it on fish or chicken on the grill. (See this week’s recipe below.) Come try it, along with our regular cookie assortment, and fresh, just in season, huckleberry/strawberry coffee cakes.
Gem State Mushrooms: Gem State Mushrooms will be at Saturday’s market. Stop by booth#27 for an amazing sample called Lumpia, prepared by Chef Cynthia. We will be featuring lions mane, pink oyster, blue oyster, golden oyster, and king trumpets. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Willow Wood Honey Farm: Willow Wood Honey Farm is excited to announce that this year’s honey harvest is ready! Our hives never leave Kootenai County, so the harvest requires patiently waiting until the bees have it ready. I, Tracy, will be at my booth on Saturday, July 29 as well as at the Riverstone market on Wednesday, August 2 with this delicious, light colored honey.
Blue Wildrye Farm: Specials this week: beef brisket is $12/lb with each beautiful, marbled piece coming in at 4-6 lbs. Beef flat iron steaks – like premium but less expensive – are $18/lb. Get your chicken and corn at the market and support your local farmer!
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken legs and thighs
- Dandelion Acre Garlic Scape Salt
- sea salt
- freshly-ground black pepper
- 2 cups BBQ sauce of choice
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 Tbs lemon juice
- 1 tsp Sandia Spice Lemon Pepper Seasoning
- 4 ears of sweet bi-color corn, husks removed
-
Preheat the grill to high. Lightly oil.
-
Season the chicken with the Garlic Scape Salt and pepper. Grill for 15 minutes, turning once, until nicely charred. Baste with 1 cup of the BBQ sauce, reduce the grill heat to medium, cover, and grill 15 minutes more, turning once. Baste with the remaining sauce, cover, and grill 15 minutes more until done and the internal temperature reaches 165℉.
-
In a small bowl, mix together the butter, lemon juice, Sandia Spice seasoning, sea salt, and pepper, to taste. Rub the corn with the butter mixture.
-
When you do the final baste on the chicken, place the rubbed corn on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until tender and lightly charred. Should take about the same 15 minutes as your final chicken grill time.
-
Use any remaining butter on the corn and additional BBQ sauce on the chicken. Enjoy with a side of sauteed or grilled mushrooms!
