Support Young Entrepreneurs at Kids’ Day, Market Customers!
Come out this Saturday and support our littlest local entrepreneurs! We have 40 youth vendors from 6 to 18 years old who will be selling home grown produce, fresh baked breads and treats, beautiful painted cards, crocheted and knit clothing and accessories, hand made dog treats, and so much more! They will be set up on the pavement along the building and would love your support!
Last weekend, our appreciation ceremony for Parkwood Properties went well. They loved all the treats our vendors gave them and are so happy they can help and support our community and market. One final thanks to Parkwood Properties for 30 years at our beautiful treed location! Three generations of Meyers here!
Market Info: Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:30 pm at our Hayden location – Wednesday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm at our Riverstone Market in CDA
And remember, if you Bike to the Market on Wednesdays, you can get $5 to spend at any Market booth!
KID VENDOR:
Clara’s Crafts: Clara will be working “Young Entrepreneurs” day at the Market this Saturday! She has a booth selling handmade items and reworked vintage jewelry. Her pieces are for all ages, but most of it is teen/adult fashionable using natural gems, glass beading, and crystals. Pop over and show her some love!
Graham Publishing: Stop by to chat about books with local authors Deb and Clark Graham! All of our books are clean and wholesome and just what you need to hang onto summer a little longer. We are authors of sci-fi/fantasy, mysteries, cookbooks, historical fiction, cruise travel books, and seven of our novels are set in North Idaho! Plus, we love to talk about writing.
Riley Creek Blueberry Farm: We are down to our last two Saturday markets for the season. We’ll have lots of fresh berries, so stock up for your freezer!
Good Shepherd Lamb Co.: Good Shepherd will be taking orders for their pasture-raised chickens starting this weekend – another food ready for your freezer! We’re dreaming of steaming bone broth and comforting chicken noodle soup this winter. Each bird averages 5 lbs at $5.50 per lb. Stop by the booth and sign up for delivery at the end of September.
Northern Latitude Foods: Our Organic Idaho Wild Rice Pieces offer the same nutrient-packed grain with a faster cooking time. Pieces are created when the grain is being separated from the hull and represent a small portion of the overall harvest. They are 1/4 to 1/3 the size of our wholegrain, so they cook faster while retaining the same incredible flavor. Come grab yours for a fraction of the price of our wholegrain – it sells out quickly!
Terratopia Farm: New this week, we will be bringing to Market early apples! These are great for sauces and pies. We’ll also have cucumbers and possibly some tomatoes. Of course, we will be bringing our normal raw goat’s milk, cheeses, cajeta (goat milk caramel), and a variety of jams and jellies.
Blue Wildrye Farm: NEWS FLASH!!! We will have our pasture raised Berkshire Pork Bratwurst back in stock in time for this Saturday’s market! Labor Day is just around the corner, so stock up for your holiday cookout. $14.00/pkg. Click here to order online: https://app.barn2door.com/bluewildrye/all
Beauty Bay Winery: Dry Raspberry is back! If you haven’t had it yet, come try a sample and pick up a bottle for brunch. We will also have our Huckleberry, Marionberry, Blackcap, and Apricot fruit wines this weekend, all handcrafted and 100% natural, as always.
Kerr Microgreens: We have a full harvest this week with our standard menu items as well as CILANTRO, CANTALOUPE, LEMON BASIL, CINNAMON BASIL, AMARANTH, PAK CHOI, and BEET. To order ahead, visit www.kerrgreens.com. See you Saturday!
Tea.Health.Honey: The Tea Lady’s booth location changes almost weekly, but she can usually be found on the blacktop selling fun designer teas, like coconut masala chai, malted matcha, chocolate mint, fruity herbals and nutty oolongs. She also has a full herbal Tea Bar where she customizes dry blends (on the spot) for more health appropriate needs like sugar balancing, inflammation, digestive support, sleep support, male/female hormonal concerns, stress/concentration issues, and even great preggo blends. So if you haven’t popped by already, she’d love to be a part of your health journey!
Lake City Bakers: This week the Lake City Bakers are bringing to the Market a local delicacy…Huckleberry Pies! We will also have Huckleberry Cheesecake Bars – oh my! – and all our regular favorites on hand.
The Wellness Bar Food Truck (in the Food Court): This weekend at the Market, stop by The Wellness Bar Food Truck for a refreshing cold-pressed juice! Made from the freshest ingredients with no preservatives or added sugars, our juice is simply pure, delicious, and nourishing. It’s the perfect way to stay hydrated and enjoy a burst of natural flavor while you explore the market!
Reminder: Bring your market basket for your shopping or a box for your plants. Our vendors also appreciate small cash bills, especially if you are shopping early.

Shishitos are in season - add this delicious side to your BBQ table!
- 12 oz shishito peppers
- 2 Tbs avocado oil
- large pinch sea salt
- 4 cloves garlic, sliced thin
- 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce or liquid aminos
- 2 tsp Furikake seasoning, everything seasoning, toasted sesame seeds, or red pepper flakes
-
Heat an extra-large skillet over medium heat, and toss the peppers with the oil and salt to lightly and evenly coat. Add the peppers to the hot pan and let them sit to blister, tossing approximately every 3 minutes, until the sides are blistered and blackened, and the peppers are just beginning to soften.
-
Remove the peppers from the pan and set aside. Immediately add the garlic to the same pan over medium heat, add a little more oil if needed, and cook until crispy golden and fragrant.
-
Add the peppers back to the pan with the garlic just to warm through. Turn off heat. Drizzle the peppers and garlic with the sesame oil and soy sauce and toss to evenly coat.
-
Serve hot on a platter or in a bowl sprinkled generously with the seasoning of your choice. Serve immediately or at room temperature. Enjoy!
