Have you been to our Wednesday Market yet this summer? We are thriving at our new location in Riverstone in Coeur d’Alene – our customers have been so supportive! Stop by next week and enjoy the sunshine, Market vendors, live music, and Riverstone shops. There’s definitely something for everyone.
And don’t forget to support the farmers. We can’t even believe the wonderful abundance that they are bringing to every Market. Check out the “What’s Fresh” box below for what farms like Killarney Farms, Lor Gardens, Xiong Garden, and Sunny Springs will have available this week.
Kids Day is next week! Have your kids signed up as youth vendors? On August 9th (Wednesday) and August 19th (Saturday), we’re giving the young people a chance to sell at the market as a youth vendor for TWO Kids Days instead of one. Sandia Spice Co.: Our New Mexico-style Chili Lime Seasoning is packed up and in our booth! Stop by Saturday for a sample. Enjoy on corn, chicken, or any dish you’re making this week!
Rider Mushroom Co.:RMC will be at the Saturday 8/5 market with Pink Oyster, Old Road Oyster, Blue Oyster, and Lion’s Mane mushrooms. We will also have Lion’s Mane, Pink Oyster, and Indian Oyster mushroom Grow Kits.
Kerr Microgreens: We will continue our $25.00 SUMMER SAMPLER microgreen pack that includes 4 crops: Sunflower, Pea Shoot, Radish, and your choice of salad crop. Salad crops rotate weekly. This Sat, August 5, we will have: Broccoli, Salad Mix, Kohlrabi, Mustard, and Arugula. Come out and try a sample!
Good Shepherd Lamb: Good Shepherd lamb company will be returning to the market this Saturday. We’ll be grilling lamb burgers, breakfast burritos and gyros!
Carpe Diem Crepes:Our August Crêpe of the Month… « Voilà » : fresh peaches, vanilla ice cream! Simple and delicious!
Blue Wildrye Farm: The Beef Kabob meat has been very popular! And Kabobs are a vibrant, often exotic treat for your summer grill. Marinate, string on skewers, and serve with grilled veggies for a colorful summer meal. See recipe below!

Lake City Bakers: This week Lake City Bakers is featuring their August special -Tomato Pies. Using fresh market tomatoes from Deerfield Farms and Killarney Farms as well as basil and green onions from Xiong Garden, this tasty little pie is something that’s asked about all year, but only available in August at the Saturday market. Served warm and ready to eat, they tend to sell out quickly! Call ahead to reserve yours (208) 651-3311.
Gem State Mushrooms: We are happy to be featuring a bountiful harvest of golden oysters, pink oysters, lions mane, king trumpets and blue oysters. Chef Cynthia has a beautiful Mushroom and lentil salad.
Beauty Bay Winery: This weekend we’ll be bring to Market our 100% natural Dry and regular Raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and apricot. Won’t have any new wines available for a few months yet, but grab your favorite while they last!
Cliffside Orchards: The wildly popular stone fruit orchard is back this summer! This weekend, we’ll have Tomcot, Goldrich, and our delicious Sun Glow apricots – available for pre-orders. A limited quantity of Early Red Haven peaches will be available, but these will only be sold by-the-pound at the market while supplies last. Pre-order by emailing info@cliffsideorchardkf.com by 12:00 pm today (Friday 8/4).
Reminder: Bring your market basket for your shopping or a box for your plants. Our vendors also appreciate small cash bills, especially if you are shopping early.

The yogurt in the marinade tenderizes the meat and imparts a delicious tangy flavor that complements the zippy garlic and smoky char of the meat.
- 1 lb Blue Wildrye beef kabob meat
- 1 cup whole milk yogurt
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Mix together the marinade ingredients (yogurt through black pepper or optional pepper flakes) in a glass bowl or zip top bag.

Add the kabob cubes to the marinade, cover bowl or seal bag, and refrigerate for 8-24 hours, stirring or turning the bag occasionally.

Remove the meat from the marinade and string on 4 skewers. Discard the marinade.

Grill over direct high heat for 8-12 minutes or until desired degree of done-ness.

Serving suggestion: Serve with grilled pita bread, tzatziki sauce, and grilled peppers and onions.
