Are you a Farmers’ Market “regular”? Do you care about small farms and buying local? Do you love your Market but have ideas about how to improve it? We need you!
FRIENDS OF THE MARKET ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Kootenai County Farmers’ Market Association is seeking individuals with a strong desire to support the market who are interested in serving on an Advisory Committee. The function of the committee is to assist and offer insight and suggestions to the Board of Directors. This is a volunteer position and is open to vendors, customers and members of the general public. It will be essential that members study and fully understand the Mission, Bylaws, Policies and Regulations of the market.
Some of the goals for the committee are:
- Establish a ‘Friends of the Market’ group for non profit, 501c3 status
- Suggest Market improvements
- Problem solve / deal with challenges such as parking
- Community outreach
- Coordinate ‘Chef at the Market’ program with Inland NW Food Network
- Generally offer a fresh perspective about the market
APPLICATION: Applicants should submit a letter of interest detailing their experience with the market, why they would like to serve, what they have to offer, and specific market issues that interest or concern them. The Board will then appoint 5-7 people to serve on the Advisory Committee and set up the first meeting. The committee, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, will determine the length of terms and frequency of meetings.
To apply, letters should be mailed to: P.O. Box 781, Hayden, ID 83835 or emailed to our manager, Beth, at: beth@cablecreekfarm.com by April 15, 2018
