Killarney Farm
About Us
On their off-grid homestead surrounded by National Forest, Ellen Scriven and Paul Smith coax a wide assortment of organic vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs and nuts from their 6+ acre market garden.
They have been members of the market since the market’s birth in 1986. Their produce has been certified organic since 1991 when the State of Idaho began a certification program. The plant starts they offer in the spring are also certified organic. Along with most of the more common vegetables, they offer some harder to find items such as Mountain Spinach, mixed Asian Greens, Escarole, Radicchio, Fava Beans, Edamame, Romanesco Broccoli, Celery Root, Cilantro, Shiso, and Golden Raspberries to name just a few of the more than 50 crops grown at Killarney Farm. On Saturdays they bring fresh eggs from their large flock of free-ranging laying hens.
In addition to booths at the Saturday and Wednesday markets, Killarney Farm operates a once- weekly roadside stand at the Rose Lake Junction. Each year several internships are available on the farm for aspiring market growers.
