Cedar Mountain Perennials
About Us
Cedar Mountain Perennials was established in 2009 on 20 acres just outside of Athol, Idaho. The nursery is located halfway between Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint. We specialize in growing native plants for Inland Northwest Gardens.
The vast majority of what we grow are native to our local region and well adapted to our climate and soils. We grow nearly all our perennials from seed here at our nursery as well as many of our shrubs. We have been growing native plants for this area since 2010. We believe that native plants are ideal for gardens in our region as they require less maintenance and attention. They are also beneficial for pollinators in our region.
CMP is licensed by the State of Idaho and are members of the Idaho Native Plant Society and the Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society.
Cedar Mountain Perennials is a family owned and operated by Bob and Jill Wilson. Bob has degrees in botany, horticulture, and entomology. He is a certified Nursery Professional as well as plant diagnostician. He has worked as a plant propagator, nursery owner, and extension educator.
Jill has degrees in forestry and forest entomology. She spent 20 years working as a forest entomologist and supervisory forest health professional before joining Bob in establishing CMP. In addition to growing plants we also provide a number of other services including contract growing, site visits and landscaping advice, plant identification, pest and disease diagnosis and training.
We put all that to use in our work here at Cedar Mountain Perennials. Please stop by our booth, we love to talk plants!!
