Reminder: Bring your market basket for your shopping or a box for your plants – or grab a bag from one of our vendors, like Lakeshore Quilting and Design or BJ’s Bags. Our vendors also appreciate small cash bills, especially if you are shopping early.
Grow Wild Gardens: I probably have enough mint to cover 5 acres, and my rosemary is hardy and thriving. So, this Saturday, I’m putting them both on sale. Stop by and check out the discounts on rosemary and mint, and browse my selection of grape vines for your yard, fence, trellis, or planter boxes.
The Tomato Lady: The Tomato Lady will be in her new spot next to the Manager this week, with lots of Huckleberry Jam and a nice assortment of jams from her farm plus new Apricot and Jalapeno flavors. She also still has lots of awesome perennials, come see!
This Week’s Youth Vendor – The Bartel Kids: Owen 13, Maddie 13, Eliza 11, Leslie 11, and Liam 10 are our youth vendors this week! They will be bringing freeze dried candy, freeze dried herbs, reversible baby bibs, calendula infused lip balm, backyard jams & jellies, and buckets of fresh flowers. Come support our up-and-coming farmers and crafters!
Kiss My Biscotti: After hiking up and ringing my cowbell while picking huckleberries, Kiss My Biscotti will be baking and bringing to market delicious Huckleberry and Lemon 🍋 Biscotti and Huckleberry and Lemon 🍋 Scones. These are very limited, so grab them before they are gone!
Idaho Livestock Cattle: Established in Hayden, Idaho. We breed and raise seedstock Aberdeen Lowline Cattle. We see them from the time they’re born until they are sold to add genetics to another herd or until they end up in the locker. They are raised on pasture and hay. The steers and sometimes heifers that are chosen for harvest get fed out the last 90 days on grain. They are harvested between 18/24 months, hang for two weeks at Smokey Ridge Meats in Chewelah. This year our ground beef deal of 5 1# pk for $35 is back.
Robinson Confections: Our Dubai Chocolate Bars just won the silver medal for “Top Chocolate Bar” at the International Chocolate Salon (graphic attached). This makes our bar the most highly-awarded Dubai Chocolate Bar in America. We sell these at the Saturday market at our booth out there on the grass island by the driveway. Come try one for yourself!
Kerr Microgreens: We will have a great variety of fresh microgreens for your summer meals🌞🌱 : Lemon Basil, Opal Basil, and Cinnamon Basil; Cantaloupe, Cilantro, Amaranth, Wasabi mustard, Broccoli, Salad Mix, Kamatsu mustard, Pea, and Sunflower!
Charlie’s Dog Coats: This will be my first market of the season! I’m excited to bring lots of my newly made dog jackets as we look forward to cooler weather and gift-giving season.
Black Forest Bakery: For the last time this year we’ll have our Dandelion Cream Cake. We’ll also have Mocca-Cream-Torte, Burnt Almond Torte, Tangerine German Cheese Torte made with our homemade soft cheese, Peach Tarts and so much more.
Blue Wildrye Farm: Our sliced Deli Ham from pasture-raised Berkshire pigs is back this week and ready to steal the spotlight. With a perfectly balanced smoky-sweet-salty flavor, this ham is expertly sliced and ready to enjoy. Pile it on a sandwich, layer it into a quiche, or serve it beside a wedge of cheddar and some ripe summer fruit. $16/lb
Lake City Bakers: Lake City Bakers is bringing back the Tomato Pies for the month of August! Stop by our booth for a personal sized savory treat made from ripe market tomatoes, fresh basil, green onions, 3 cheeses, and baked in our buttery pie crust! We are also baking Ham & Swiss Fritters, lots of Strawberry Rhubarb or Apple Huckleberry Pies, and -New this Week- Strawberry Sweet Rolls! See you Saturday!
Graham Publishing:Come see our Book of the Week! Hayden authors Deb and Clark of Graham Publishing offer nearly ninety books and they’re just right for summer reading. Note: Grab a couple of books now because we will not be at Kootenai Farmers’ Market next week (Find us at Athol Daze). We’re right by the manager’s booth. Stop by and chat about writing and reading!
