Our next event is Customer Appreciation Day on October 12th. This is our annual event to thank and appreciate our customers and friends. In addition to our regular Market happenings, we offer complimentary bread, soup, and pastries, from our hearts to your hands. Save the date!

Grab some beef, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and peppers from the market and warm up with this stew!
- 2 1/2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 2 lbs chuck steak, cubed
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbs tomato paste
- 2 large tomatoes, diced
- 2 Tbs all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 2 cups beef bone broth
-
Heat the oil in a soup pot over medium heat until shimmering. Add the onions and cook until translucent. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the meat and just brown on all sides. Add the pepper and cook until just softened.
-
Stir the tomato paste into the pot and cook for about a minute. Then add the tomatoes and heat through. Add the flour, stirring into the liquid, and cook for a couple minutes. Pour in the broth and season with salt, pepper, cumin, and chili powder. Bring everything to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer covered on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Add more broth or water as needed to keep it from getting too thick.
-
Once the meat is tender, remove from the heat. Serve warm with chopped fresh cilantro, warm tortillas, and sour cream, if desired.
