Our March Cabin Fever Market is here! This Saturday, March 23rd, we are hosting nearly 70 of your favorite local farmers, crafters, bakers, producers, writers, and food trucks inside and outside Buildings 1-3 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds from 10am to 3pm!
Parking and entry are free, and, of course, there will be live music from Bill Bozly! Grab a coffee from Idahome Espresso along with this month’s featured savory Carpe Diem Crepe, the Mistral – a gluten-free French Buckwheat crepe filled with spinach, tomato bruschetta, chorizo, and feta cheese (pictured). Yum! Friendly Islands Grill will also be serving up hot food.
This is the final Cabin Fever Market of the winter season before we pause for a minute to get ready for the summer season, starting in May. This was the first time the Kootenai County Farmers’ Markets hosted markets throughout the winter, and so many vendors and shoppers showed up for us! Sunny Springs Garden: Ixchel is bringing jams and salsas to the Market, but this farmer also launching a new line of products: soaps, bath bombs, shower steamers and lip balms!
Kerr Microgreens: They have grown for the final CABIN FEVER MARKET of the season! They’ll have Sunflower, Pea shoot, Radishes, Broccoli, Spicy Salad, Red Cabbage, and SPECIALTY CROPS: Cantaloupe, Cilantro, and Beet microgreens.

Pamelot Lavender: Pam will be there this weekend with small dried lavender bouquets perfect for Easter decorations.
Blue Wildrye Farm: Just in time for Easter…these mouthwatering Berkshire hams! They will also have a Sausage Sampler with 6 of your favorite flavors: Pork Bulk Country Breakfast Sausage, Pork German Links, Pork Bratwurst Links, Pork Garlic Basil Links, Pork Bulk Italian Sausage, and All Beef Smoked Frankfurters. All sausages are also available individually.
Browning Beef:
Fungi Family Farm: Come try a new product they are releasing – honey infused with lions mane, turkey tail and reishi mushrooms! They will also be pouring free samples of “Fungee” Mushroom Coffee. This is a market favorite!
Garden Party Fibers: Yes, Juaquetta will have all the lovely, cozy knitted goodies and spun yarn. But this weekend, her grandson will be at her booth with fresh chicken, duck, and goose eggs! Duck eggs are twice the size of chicken eggs. Goose eggs are 3 times the size of chicken eggs! Both have bigger yokes and baking with them will make a loftier cookie, pancakes, or muffins. They also have higher protein and vitamin levels.
COFFEE, TEA, AND FOODSTUFFS
Solunar Nutrition: They will have a new product: MJ’s Mockaccino. This cozy yet invigorating cocoa-herbal drink mix is a perfect substitute for those who abstain from caffeine or are looking to cut back/quit. Narrow Way Coffee: They will be serving freshly brewed drip coffee and have bags of their premium coffees for sale! During March and April, they will be donating 10% of all Haiti Coffee sales to Singing Rooster. They are a Non-Profit that supports local farmers and provides them a sustainable means to sell coffee to the world. Stop by the Narrow Way booth to sample coffee, stock up on beans and say hello!
Lake City Bakers: They will be bringing Easter DIY Cookie Decorating Kits that include 18 Easter shaped sugar cookies with over a pound of delicious buttercream and all the sprinkles and candies you need. Make sure you save a carrot cookie for the Easter Bunny!
Lucid Roots: Have you tried her hummus? She will have three delicious salads, that creamy hummus, soup, and a chia pudding this weekend. Check out her Tuesday Salad Deliveries as well!
Simply Sweet Cottage Treats: These bakers will have a new roll this weekend! The London Fog: brown butter brioche infused with Earl Grey tea, vanilla bean, and local honey. Limited quantities available. Their menu will also include classic cinnamon rolls, lemon curd, blueberry and lemon curd, bourbon caramel with and without nuts, bourbon caramel with vanilla-infused pears, cookies, and a few types of brownies.
Hard Crack Toffee: Don’t forget to pick up something sweet, crunchy and a little salty from Hard Crack for holiday – or everyday – treats!
THE CRAFTERS + ARTISTS
Westwood Pen Company: Along with his pens, Alexander will be bringing wood turned measuring cup and spoon sets on Saturday! This new item, along with his wood-turned, French tapered rolling pins, would make excellent gift for Mother’s Day or another baker in your life. The pins are a solid piece of wood and some are a segmented 2 tone piece, each about 15 inches long.
And for the kids, he made yoyos! These are also wood turned and feature a ball bearing and axle system for longer spins and better performance.
Montana Antler Craft West: Montana Antler Craft will be with us again this weekend!
Heavenly Stitchings: Doreen has been stitching away and will have a wonderfully fun selection of kitchen linens, hats, and more! Check out her Mister and Mrs. Bun’s towels for Easter, and pick up one of her hand-made bag for shopping the Market.
Authors Clark and Deb Graham: Local authors Clark and Deb will be at the market with all of their books, including several set right here in Kootenai County! Genres range from mystery, historical fiction, light paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy to cruise guides, cookbooks, and even romance novels. They make terrific gifts as well as an escape for the last days of iffy Springtime weather. They’re also always up for a chat about anything writerly!
Nina Paul Design: This limited-production studio focuses on Rustic Modern and Bohemian mountain home decor, soaps, candles, and more. They will have these 4-inch Pearl Stacked Bowls in gloss white and their new satin black colors.
Northern Exposure Photography: Explore photos of Northwest wild animals and landscapes in rustic wood frames and on canvas. Local photos include Lake Coeur d’Alene, Fort Sherman, Old Mission, eagles and flowers from Tubs Hill. Also, new this year is a just published book “Northwest Museums” by local author and photographer Mike Brodwater.
