Celebrate Farmers Market Week and the heigh of summer with us, Market Customers!
It’s Farmers Market Week! And our Market is bustling every Saturday and Wednesday with loads of wonderful local farm-fresh abundance, craft gifts and treasures, health and wellness products, and much more. Here is just a sampling of what you’ll find at the longest running Market in Kootenai County.
Kids Day is next week! Have your kids signed up as youth vendors? On August 9th (Wednesday) and August 19th (Saturday), we’re giving the young people a chance to sell at the market as a youth vendor for TWO Kids Days instead of one. Check Out This Week’s PoP Club Activity:the Smoothie Bike is Back!PoP Club is a free market program for kids ages 5-12 introduces them to healthy produce with fun hands-on activities and challenges that are fresh and new each week. When a child completes an activity, they get a $2 token that they can redeem around the market for fresh fruit, vegetables, and food-bearing plants. |
There are a handful of our vendors who have been very generous to our non-profit, Friends of the Market, over the years with donations to Friends and PoP Club. This week, a huge thank you to Bobbie with BJ’s Bags:
Lake City Bakers: We will be offering our market fresh tomato mini pies through August at Saturday markets! Stop by for the best taste of market fresh produce you’ve had all summer!
Sandia Spice Co.: We will have some of your favorite grilling seasonings this weekend. Our single malt whiskey is from Up North Distillery in Post Falls….makes the best BBQ flavor!
Twisted Slate Brewing: We’re back this Saturday serving authentic Santa Maria Style Tri-tip sandwiches!
Booties Championship BBQ: We will be back at the farmer’s market this Saturday. We’ll feature our 4lb Big Bootie Potato with pork or brisket, chopped brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and Breakfast Burritos.
Narrow Way Coffee Roasters: We are back this week with our NEW 4 ounce size sample bags!! Buy as many as you like to have more variety in your cabinet of these one-of-a-kind coffee offerings or share some with a friend. Stop by our booth for free pour over samples of all our incredible artisan coffees. See you there!
Royal Highlands Produce: Melons are here…cantaloupe, watermelon and an amazing cross of cantaloupe and honeydew call “arava”!
Blue Wildrye Farm: This week’s special is our 100% grass fed and finished beef short ribs for $12/lb. Cook these ribs low and slow until they fall of the bone. Delicious!

Perfect summer flavors with fresh seasonal produce!
- 7 ears fresh sweet corn
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup monterey jack cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 farm-fresh egg
- 1 jalapeno or serrano chili, trimmed and diced
- 1/2 sweet bell pepper, diced
- 1-2 tsp Sandia Spice Chili Lime seasoning + more for topping
- sea salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 limes, cut into wedges
- 1 cup Queso Fresco or Cotija cheese, crumbled

Cut the corn off the cob, and spread out on a baking sheet. Broil for about 5 minutes to char slightly. Set aside.

Preheat the oven to 350℉

Mix the mayo, sour cream, cheeses and egg in a bowl until combined. Add the corn and peppers. Season with the spice mix, salt. and pepper.

Pour the mixture into a buttered casserole dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. Serve warm sprinkled with cilantro, queso, and additional Sandia Spice mix. Enjoy with tacos or BBQ!
