We hope you’ll join us for Customer Appreciation Day this Saturday at the Hayden Market. We’ll have free coffee and pastries until 10, and free soup, bread and pastries from 10am until we run out – all lovingly made by our local farmers/vendors. It’s our way of saying “thank you!” for buying local and supporting your small farmers and artisans this season.
Only 3 markets left for the season! That’s the answer to the most commonly asked question these days. Oct. 14th and 21st we’re at the regular Saturday market site. The 28th we’re joining forces with the City of CdA for Harvest Fest at 5th and Sherman from 10-3! Free hay rides, and free face and pumpkin painting. Mark your calendars and bring the kids!

Wild-Harvested Cranberries
Did you know that cranberries grow wild in our area? They can be found in a few, remote, marshy locations in North Idaho. Ellen Scriven of Killarney Farm is one of the adventurous farmers who have been donning rubber boots and wading through the bog to harvest these gorgeous, plump berries the past couple of weeks. They are difficult (or impossible!) to come by outside of our Farmers’ Market, so now is the time to stock up for your holiday feasts!
Coming up next week: The last market at the Hayden location for this season.
