Celebrate the freedom to choose healthy and local with us, Market Customers!
It’s a red, white, and blue kind of week with Independence Day falling in the middle of the week. We’ll be celebrating with all the local produce, crafts, foods, flowers, cheeses, pastries, breads, fruit wines, woodcrafts, body products, teas, coffees, and so much more. And check out the activities for kids at the PoP Club booth, where your kiddos can gain tokens to spend on produce and veggie plants throughout the market. There is so much to experience at the Market for everyone!
Come shop with us on Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:30 pm in Hayden, and on Wednesday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at Riverstone in CDA. Here are a few upcoming events, and see below for more on what’s fresh at the Market this week!
APPLY TODAY for KIDS’ DAY MARKET!
Did you know that the Market hosts two Market days for kids to bring things they’ve crafted, grown, or produced and experience what it’s like to be a Market vendor? We are all about encouraging entrepreneurial farmers and producers – applications due by July 6th and August 10th.
HOMETOWN HEROES’ DAY AT RIVERSTONE
Wednesday, July 10th, at the Riverstone Market, we’re hosting a few of our local, brave first responders and military members. Come meet some heroes and hear their stories.
Northern Latitude Foods: Our rice grows in extensive habitats, multicultural ecosystems, teeming with life! The majority of our rice is wild-harvested, a method of collecting just a portion of the grain produced by the plants. This Saturday, taste our Organic Idaho Wild Rice in a summer rice salad recipe (see recipe at the end of this post). This wild rice is a premium product and our most popular, due to its exception taste and unbeatable price.
Beauty Bay Winery: This season we will have Huckleberry, Marionberry, Blackcap, and Apricot fruit wines all handcrafted and 100% natural, as always. Later this season, we will offer our new Concord Grape wine along with our Dry Raspberry. Try a sample at our booth!
Blue Wildrye Farm: Brand new this week! Our Swedish Potato link sausages are infused with the cozy flavors of Swedish meatballs: pork, potato, onions, allspice, and white pepper. Great on the grill! Only $14.00/package. And don’t forget that you can pre-order online on Thursdays each week for pick up on Saturday.
Kerr Microgreens: Happy Independence Day!! If you haven’t tried our radish, mustard, or cantaloupe microgreens, they work great with summer foods🌞 Stop by for complimentary samples on either Sat in Hayden 9am-1:30pm; or Wed @Riverstone 4-7pm.
Narrow Way Coffee Roasters: It’s going to be another perfect Saturday for cold brew! We’ll have lots of it brewed and fresh hot coffee too! We are featuring one of our newest coffees this week, Colombia Washed. It has notes of caramel and black cherry which gives a nod to richer tasting notes for those who like a dark roast. Stop by to try it and get a bag to take home!
Tea.Health.Honey: We are proud to celebrate our nations birthday, and what better way to do that than by having a patriotic tea! Our July Tea of the Month is a brand new black tea mixed with red, white, and blue flowers. It’s perfect for an iced tea on warm sunny days and backyard BBQs. Not a fan of black tea? We just released a new “mostly” herbal tea – Mint ‘n Chip – featuring herbal rooibos, peppermint leaves, and real chocolate pieces (have a little caffeine). It also makes a great iced tea with peppermint to cool the body on a hot day.
Lake City Bakers: We will now be keeping a selection of cold pies and parfaits on ice during the hot summer months. This week we are featuring our Lemon Cream, Sour Orange Cream, and Key Lime Pies – all scratch-baked and topped with fresh whipped cream. Think about freezing one for your July 4th celebration!
Solunar Nutrition: Our Mockaccino is a cozy yet invigorating chocolate-herbal drink mix, the perfect substitute for those who abstain from caffeine or are looking to cut back/quit. In addition, it’s great for coffee enthusiasts to enhance the flavor and nutritional value in their own beverages. As a low-calorie crave-quencher, MJ’s is also ideal for weight-loss. Come grab some this Saturday!
Graham Publishing: Clark and Deb of Graham Publishing will be there on Saturday with close to 80 books they’ve written, including several set in North Idaho. Great for summer reading or gift-giving! We love chatting about books and writing, so stop by!
Marrow & Tallow: We are rediscovering ancestral uses for animals and finding new ways to put the whole animal to use, while creating an alternative to chemicals, seed oils and preservatives found in mainstream skincare. Our premier, naturally-effective animal-based tallow face, hand, and body moisturizers and sunscreens are better for us humans, for the environment, and for local ranchers.
Minted Digits Coin Jewelry: Hi, my name is JD. I’m a father, husband, and self-employed jeweler crafting rings, bracelets, necklaces, and more from coins of all shapes, sizes, and origins. For example, one 1/4-oz silver buffalo nickel replica can make 3 rings. Come check out my selection or bring a coin you would like crafted into something special for you or your loved one.
We have everything from breakfast burritos and waffles to paella, tri-tip, authentic French crepes, and an espresso truck. Here are a few featured things this weekend!
The Wellness Bar Food Truck: Join us this weekend at the farmers market for a delightful treat from The Wellness Bar Food Truck! Indulge in our refreshing acai bowls, perfect for the warm weather! See you there!
Puzo’s Pelmeni: The 4th of July is just around the corner and we are bringing you some tasty treats this week! We will be serving our Beef and Cheese Piroshki, our delicious Biscuits and Gravy Piroshki, and our annual Red, White and Blue Deconstructed Dessert Piroshki! New this week will also be serving Top Sirloin Beef Stroganoff, Baklava inspired Carmel Apples, Trubochki with a caramel cream filling (similar to a cannoli), as well as our popular take-and-bake Smoked Salmon Pot Pies! To keep you hydrated we will be offering our Non-Alcoholic Sparkling White Russians and our freshly brewed Kompot (juice). See you this weekend for another beautiful day at the market!
Carpe Diem Crepes: My CREPE of the Month! Homemade “coulis” (basically “sauce” in French) made with fresh raspberries and strawberries, and topped with Belgian chocolate shavings…I will have this through the end of June!
Reminder: Bring your market basket for your shopping or a box for your plants. Our vendors also appreciate small cash bills, especially if you are shopping early.
